Wow..

Tim Buton + Harpers Bazaar = One fantastic gothic fashion moment!!!
I love Tim Burton, and I'm so excited about Alice in Wonderland movie coming out in March. This shoot is so gorgeous, words fail me...

Finally feeling better!!

I've been a bit under the weather recently.. I got a 1/2 a really nasty sore throat. I say 1/2 seeing as that it was only on the right side.. (left side perfectly fine) which was really weird and yet still draining.. so thanks to penicillin my infection has gone, and I'm free to resume live life to it's fullest.

New things to play with..

eBay I LOVE you!! well for the moment anyway.. So I had a massive splurge session a few weeks ago, and almost everything arrived today. The MAC HK brush set is genuine, I did a comparison to my friends who bought theirs in store.. :)

MAC Hello Kitty Brush holder + 3 brushes

Assorted Nail Art Canes..

Well I'm going to have loads of fun with these.. I've just got to learn how best to apply them.

Ps I had a major nail disaster, my left thumb got caught in a door and had to file them all way down just to be even..

Drum roll please....

The winner of my 1st blog giveaway is.....

Theresia

being in a slightly lazy mood, I felt that the traditional pulling a name out of the hat required a little more effort than so I used one of the many tools of the internet has to offer.. The research randomizer!

counting from the 1st entry I received I got to 5th email entry which was from Theresia...

Eyeko Polish

I swatched 2 out of the 6 Eyeko polishes.. Pretty Polish (pastel pink) and Pastel Polish (pastel blue with blue shimmer) and so far not terribly impressed, both of these had major streaking issues, both of them had to have at least 3 coats to cover all the bald spots.. and it took forever to dry! The brushes aren't as bad as i thought they were going to be initially, but the dainty little bottle feels like it could be knocked over just a little too easily. I love the color of Pastel Polish but would love to be able to fix some of the consistency issues with it.

Ps..I swatched the remaining 4 polishes, no problems what so ever, great application with just 2 coats. Disco Polish is the polish i was most worried about just looking at it's consistency but it dried faster than both Pretty and Pastel Polish.. It's a cute set, not sure whether I would by it again seeing as 1/3 of it has issues with application and though they're very cute bottles the colors aren't that original. Disco Polish would have to be my favourite with it's massive amount of glitter & resonable drying time.

Eyeko Haul

I got my package from Eyeko this morning, needless to say I postponed my studies till I examined all my goodies. Firstly the packaging is so cute, and very small! I haven't swatched any of the polishes but I strongly recommend cleaning the lids, as all of mine were seriously gunked up with polish. Unfotunatly I've run out of polish thinner, and the constistesy of Disco Polish is thicker than my Konad special polish :(
Eyeko baby polishes

Pretty Magic Eyes Set

The eyeshadow seems to have a decent amount of shimmer and reasonable staying power (Pretty Eyes), I would have prefered to have swapped the dark pink and the salmon color around just becuase it's a more wearable everyday color.. I have't yet tested the Magic Liquid Eyeliner, but i will keep you ladies posted when i do..
Free goodies!!
Yay!! I love free stuff.. I got a postcard, a Face Off cleanser wipe, and Beauty Rehab Rose Salve. On MUA I could only find reveiw for the mint salve. This has a reasonably thick consistancy and a pleasent rose scent. All in all the postage was quick, and I love getting things that I've been lusting after on sale.. + free stuff is always good!

Candy, candy, candy I cant let you go

I've had 'Candy' by Iggy Pop in my head for the best part of 2 days, I have kind of put it down to that Revlon Pretty in Papaya reminds me of a nice candy red/coral and smells so delicious!Pretty in Papaya
'Fruit Salad' with
Mad About Mango, Pretty in Papaya, Mon Cherry
my 'candy' heart

I had to do a simple very basic statistic exercise for uni involving multicolored candy, so once I counted it all and tallied up the results, I was free to play with them till the urge to devour them overcame me.

Boy, do I love the postman!!

well in all honesty I don't love him...but I do so love getting things in the mail! 1 of my packages from ebay arrived yesterday.. I was hoping that I would have more today but no such luck.. :(
My previous makeup obsession before nail polish was lip-gloss and I fell back in my old ways when i spotted a Lancome mini juicy tube charm bracelet.. I put a ridiculously small bid on it and won!! ($22 AU + P&H) CG Kaleidoscope Him Out, CG White on White tips, Konad Black S/P with plate 56

Went into the city today to meet up with a friend, they didn't show so I was left unchaperoned with my shopping compulsions.. Spent ages in Lincraft though only left with a hot glue gun, yellow thread for Luma plushie and some stuff to make a hat for the races...
current state of my plushie..

Popped in David Jones to scope out polish nothing grabbed me at the OPI stand so wandered round to Revlon.. and got different pack of fruit scented polish, 'Fruit Salad' with Mad About Mango, Pretty in Papaya, Mon Cherry. Pretty in Papaya is definatly my favourite. Revlon have a rather good gift with purchase at the moment Ii was tempted.. but I didn't have enough spare cash with a party coming up.

China Glaze Ghoulish Glow T/C

I must confess I love gimmicky things.. and glow in the dark nails is definitely in that category! I swatched one nail to test it's "glow"ability.. and was rather disappointed. However I then noticed the glow particles (or what ever they are) had collected at the bottom of the bottle (and was so thick the bbs couldn't move).. so the 2nd swatch was much better after a lot mixing. Though in the dark it was a little patchy with 1 coat.. 2 coats however did affect the colour of my polish dulling it slightly and very slight matte look but the glow was great!!

A little disappointed..

Well I tried out Jessica Endurance B/C, and Top Priority T/C (with China Glaze Flying Dragon) and I wasn't really impressed, the B/C dried fast enough, and the T/C dried with reasonable speed and great shine the downfall is that I only had my for 8 hrs before the polish started to peel off in massive pieces.. I only typed for a few hours, other than that I was reading text books and conversing with family not exactly extreme activity for nails.. but I'll give it another go.. before I give my final verdict..

Loved Flying Dragon, such a pretty neon purple with fine glitter!! I was going to 'nad' it but it came off before i had a chance :(

in other news went on eBay with the sole purpose to pay for one item.. ended my eBay session with 3 items paid for and 10 more that I've placed bids on.. will fill you in when i receive the items.. but I'm very excited!!

Boy, do I love a bargain!

I'm just a tad stressed about uni and attempting to retrieve my stuff from an ex, and a spot of retail therapy was just what Dr. Katie prescribed..
  • OC Nail Art, to top up my Konad collection, (scrounged Google for discount codes) ended up with only 3 special polishes (Jungle Green, Violet Pearl, Metallic Pink)and 5 disks (M50, M51, M59,M63, &M70) I intially had 4 time as much in my cart and culled it substantially which i'm most proud of..
  • Eyeko to buy the set of 6 nail polishes (thanks Nixxy!) I've been trying to resist these cuties for a while now.. but in my weakened state, i caved big time! (I used the code E4566 that i found)
  • Bought a remmant of bright yellow stretch fabirc from my local haberdashery for 75c!! so I'm planning on making a Plushie Luma (from Mario Galaxy) I discovered the pattern on DailyCute.net and I've been itching to try it!
So now i'm extraordinarily happy.. and while I'm waiting for my bundles of goodies to be delivered to my door I'll be making plushie/s!

Polish and Pelicans

I was just reminiscing about my first nail polish, it was kiwi scented shimmering green and came in a cute pencil inspired bottle. (Come to think of it, this is probably why I'm quite obsessed with green nail polish.) So when i saw that Revlon had released a scented range I knew this was something i had to buy.

No So Blue-berry,Passionate Fruit, Raspberry Rapture.

I searched high and low and found the 3 pack in my local Priceline for $24.95. Which is a bit of a bargain.. Also found Jessica nail polish for $2, having enough color to play around with i bought the Endurance Base Coat, Top Priority T/C and Nail Cure formula 1+2. I haven't tried them out yet and completely new to the brand, has anyone had any problems with them?

just a few pics of the local pelicans, they're rather strange almost magestic birds..

Ladybird nails

Went to Mooloolaba beach yesterday with friends.. I went with China Glaze QT it's very pretty and holographic in full sunlight. (and it went with my bikini) Well i got home got bored with just plain QT.. it dulls a bit in indoor lighting, so i funked it up with the help of my Ink and Kaleidoscope Him Out (both China Glaze)

Had a great day at the beach and didn't get at all sunburnt!! Yay for factor 30 sunscreen!!

I truly am a child of the 80's

I wish i could say i just want these sneakers.. but no i NEED them..I instantly though of Rainbow Bright!! Shoes is another one of my severe weaknesses, sneakers in particular. & i just culled 2/3 of my sneaker collection so i do have the space for a new pair or two... So no more nail polish until i have these babies on my feet!! Hopefully i won't have to resort to eBay but the hunt has now started..

--------------------------------------
Just found another couple of blogs with contests Do Not Refreeze  &  Live. Laugh. Love. Fashion.
Both blogs are pretty cool but haven't had the time to properly critique them.

Whether one enter the contests or not i would definitely reccomend checking out these gorgeous blogs!

Midnight mani!

Base; China Glaze - White on White
Hello Kitty; Konad Special Polish - Black
Hearts; China Glaze - LOL & IDK

I used Konad plate m3 for the hearts and "fauxnad" plate A02 for Hello Kitty. I managed to find a seller on eBay that was not selling mixed lots, so I knew I definitely was getting the HK plate. (& just to be sure I messaged them and they were prompt and super nice) Hello Kitty is another one of my weaknesses, & I'm kicking myself that my self imposed makeup ban accidently conincided with MAC HK range.. (I did sneak a few items from that range past my ban but with hindsight.. not enough!)

Pics from my last haul!

From the China Glaze INK collection,
Nail decals, Blue Sparrow, Flying Dragon, Ink, LE Orange Cuticle Oil

Paper Chasing, Sky High-Top, Bermuda Breakaway, Solar Power.

OMG Wireless Holographic T/C, White on White, Black Leather, Ghoulish Glow T/C

From the China Glaze OMG collection;
DV8, OMG, 2NITE, LOL, IDK, FYI, GR8, QT.

I can't begin to describe how pretty these polishes are. The holographic OMG range is gorgeous (and great for konad) some are more subtle in their holographic nature (LOL, QT, DV8), but they dry really quickly and the colors themselves are really pretty.

Both Blue Sparrow and Flying Dragon have glitter in them & I found I needed 2 coats of T/C to make my nails shiny and smooth. With any glitter polish it's a little tougher to get off but these 2 are well worth the extra hassle!

Paper Chasing is a fantastic green with a green shimmer, Sky High-Top has a blue shimmer through it. I was really worried about Paper Chasing having read that some people needed 3+ coats to make it opake but mine was fine with just 2 (maybe i got lucky). I will definately be buying more from the Custom Kicks collection that these 2 polishes are from!

Bermuda Breakaway, a wonderful creme blue, Solar Power a happy yellow with shimmer, they look really nice together and plan on doing a Dita Von Teese mani with these 2!

Went a little polish crazy!!

Because I study online, I have too much of an opportunity to go shopping.. particularly at 8ty8Beauty Supply!! Just opened a package containing no less than 12 polishes!! I also got some orange cuticle oil, nail art glitter and a crystal nail file! I'll post pics when i find my camera!! I'm torn between getting new Konad plates or more China Glaze next time i get bitten by the spending bug.

Got rather 2 excited with online shopping

Well I satisfied my green nail polish fixation for the moment, as i successfully hunted down on eBay China Glaze Emerald Sparkle with that i also purchased; Nubar Greener and Zoya Suvi. I'm so happy with both Greener and Emerald Sparkle both are fabulous colors and the glitter in the ES is mezmerizing. Suvi is nice but is very similer to China Glaze's Gussied Up in Green.

While waiting for my purchases to arrive I bought a few cheap colours from my local chemist. Ulta3 is only $2AU and the range of colours is great. Some require at least 3 coats, but most only need 2. they're great if you want to test drive a colour before you invest in more expensive polish.

Nail polish

About a fortnight ago i was doing some serious procrastination, using one of the most valuable tools the internet has to offer; Youtube! I came across a few videos on Konad, (which is ridiculously cute nail stamping system) and fell in love. My addiction to all things nail related has come back to bite me and no amount of rehab will cure me of my affliction. Also 'discovered' China Glaze a nail polish that we don't have here in Australia (or at least I've never seen it) the colors are amazing; I just couldn't help myself and ordered a huge amount online. Got a few bottles from the OMG range; Ruby Pumps and Gussied up in Green.
I was a devotee of OPI but I fear China Glaze has changed that, I am smitten. The downfall is that I can only order it online and don't have a chance to see it in the bottle, but with OPI costing $19.99 AU; paying $2.68 US for China Glaze (+ postage) the price is better and I don't feel so bad buying in bulk. (Just so I can save on postage or that's what i tell myself.)

This a picture of my 1st play session with Konad (plate m19 & s9), I'm pretty pleased with it though I did smudge it a little.

My pets

Just 3 of my little fish, currently the proud owner of 5 neon tetras, 1 rummy nose tetra, 2 harlequins and a tiny leopard catfish! Unfortunately fish don't pose to get their photo taken so this was the best pic out of the seemingly hundreds that I took.
